At Aurum Laboratories, we understand the critical role pH plays in your operations, whether it's for environmental monitoring, soil health assessment, or mining site reclamation.
Our pH analysis procedure is designed with the highest standards of quality control to ensure accurate and consistent results every time.
With a focus on precision, our methodical process guarantees that the results you receive are reliable, empowering you to make informed decisions. We work closely with you to ensure our analysis meets your specific needs and expectations, providing clear and actionable data that aligns with your operational goals.
The pH Analysis Process
By adhering to rigorous quality assurance steps at every stage of the process, we ensure that our pH analysis not only meets but exceeds industry standards, delivering the insights you need with confidence.

Weighing
Samples are first weighed at 3gram into a weighing boat before they are transferred into the correct large glass culture tube using the funnel.
Mixing
30ml of deionised water is added using the dispenser into each of the culture tubes. All the tubes are capped and then placed on the orbital shaker.
The shaker is then programmed to shake for two hours before the rack(s) are then taken off the orbital shaker and left to settle in.
Measurement
pH meters are calibrated using the standards buffer (usually pH 4,7 and 10) before measuring.
The pH is read using the calibrated pH probe of the TPS Aqua pH meter, where only the aqueous solution should be read, not the settled solids.
The pH is recorded on the pH production sheet when the reading is stable.

Cleaning and Quality Control
To ensure the highest quality and reliability of results, we follow a meticulous cleaning and quality control process at every stage of the analysis including electrode maintenance, samples tubes and routine equipment checks.
To guarantee accurate readings, we perform regular calibration of pH meters using certified standard buffers (typically at pH 4, 7, and 10) before every set of measurements. This ensures that our equipment provides reliable, accurate results.
Sample Integrity and Traceability
Composite sampling before conducting pH analysis is a common practice, especially in fields like the mining industry to get a representative and accurate measurement of the overall characteristics of a given area or material.
Our lab follows rigorous protocols to ensure that composite samples are accurately prepared, reflecting the true characteristics of your material.
With our careful attention to sample integrity, we deliver pH analysis results you can trust, supporting the success of your operations.
